WELCOME!
I started as an illustrator in Rio de Janeiro, creating patterns for companies like O Rei dos Esportes, Inesgotável Surf Wear, and Surrealista Sport Wear. Later on, I was hired to illustrate textbooks for Faculdade ABEU and Colégio Pentágono. I nostalgically recall the moment when computer graphics were taking their first steps. While some colleagues chose to remain faithful to pens and ink, I was enchanted by graphic programs like CorelDraw and Photoshop, even in their initial versions with limited features.
Those software marked the beginning of my journey in marketing agencies, where, during that period, I got closer to photography, working as a producer. It was a crucial phase for my development in this field. In 2004, while working at Eclipse Publicações, I had a unique opportunity: to learn 3D modeling in Alias Maya (now Autodesk Maya) to create three-dimensional models and incorporate them into illustrations. At that time, the rivalry between Maya and 3D Max users was palpable, and the world of 3D software was buzzing, especially with the film industry driven by movies like The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings. In Brazil, soda and beer commercials stood out with almost Hollywood-like productions.
In 2008, I was involved in creating bumpers for video production companies, and in 2010, I received an invitation to work as a Videographer at TV Boas Novas. Two years later, I immersed myself in photography, specializing in capturing products and women’s fashion.
At some point, the need to create a website for my projects arose, and that’s when I came across WordPress. It was love at first sight. I realized that WordPress was the missing piece in my “Hard Skills.”
Telling a professional journey without going too long is a challenge, but I hope I managed to present the facts progressively. Certainly, many details have been left out, as a complete story could become tedious. However, I am open to the possibility of getting in touch if you want to know more about my work.
Thank you in advance for your visit and interest.
Sid Oliveira.
